Recipe for the best seafood stew we have ever tried. This is an excellent fresh seafood recipe and a tradition on the Outer Banks. Try this recipe for your next party or family gathering.

Outer Banks Seafood Stew

Ingredients

  • 2 onions chopped
  • 1 full stalk of celery chopped
  • 5 carrots sliced
  • 10 strips of bacon chopped
  • 5 green peppers chopped
  • 1 large can diced tomatoes
  • 1 large can diced potatoes
  • 8 quarts chicken stock
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons parsley flakes
  • 2 Tablespoons bay leaves
  • 5 Pounds popcorn shrimp
  • 5 Pounds scallop pieces
  • 5 Pounds tuna cut in chunks

Directions

  1. Combine first 5 ingredients in order listed.
  2. Cook until tender.
  3. Add the next 6 ingreients and bring to a boil.
  4. When mixture has reached a rolling boil; add the shrimp, scallops and tuna.
  5. Cook until seafood is done

*Cook's note: Use FRESH seafood.
