Tension at Your Wedding

Tensions between relatives or friends threaten the joy of your wedding day, but good planning can practically eliminate a would be conflict .

1. The brid and bridegroom should talk about any apprehensions and decide to face them as a couple.

2. Let your family members know that respect them and value their opinions and beliefs; but remind them that your wedding is your special day, not theirs..

3. The 'I paid for this' from parents and inlaws - have each contribute a predetermined amount to be used as you require without having to say this one paid for the flowers and the other paid for the cake. This will prevent comparisons and sometimes ill feelings.

4. Don't be afraid to air your concerns in the early stages of planning your wedding. Your wedding day should be one of your happiest events of your life. Family and friends can help by putting aside their differences for one day. If they cannot, they sould extend their best wishes for your every happiness and plan a time after your wedding to celebrate your marriage; at their expense.

5. Biological and stepfather wedding duties - If the bride's biological father gives her away - A thoughtful consideration to the stepfather might include granting him the first dance at the reception.

6. Separateing X's. At the ceremony, seat your mother and her escort in the front row and your father and his spouse in the third row. If there is tension in your divorced parents relationship; do not force them to socialize.

7. When all else fails let your planner and officiant know of your concerns. They have confronted similar issues in the past and could possibly offer solutions to help make your wedding worry free
