Susan's Hot Fudge Cake Pre-heat oven to 350

Ingredients

  • 2 cups self rising flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons melted shortening
  • 2 cups pecans
  • 2 cups dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa (additional)

Directions

  1. Combine first six ingredients and pour into an un-greased 13x11 baking dish.
  2. Combine the last two ingredients and sprinkle over batter mixture.
  3. 3 1/2 cups boiling water pour over top of cake and bake at 350 for 30 minutes. .

*Cook's note: Batter will rise to form cake and liquid will form chocolate sauce on the bottom. Serve hot with a scoop of ice cream.
