Dependable Single Pie Crust - Refrigerate until ready to use.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening (may use butter flavored shortening)
  • 3 - 6 tablespoons ICE water

Directions

  1. Sift together flour and salt.
  2. Cut in shortening until the mixture resembles course corm meal or small peas.
  3. Add ice water and mix quickly.
  4. Roll dough into a ball .
  5. Use a rolling pin to form pie crust.

*Cook's note: Wrap dough and refrigerate for later use. Work dough quickly on a cool surface for a tender and flaky crust.
